About Rebecca

Professionally licensed in Arizona for Massage Therapy and Acupuncture, I currently offer mobile services based out of Mesa, Arizona.

I began paving a path in the healthcare field when I received training at the Swedish Institute for Massage Therapy in New York City. Once licensed in New York for Massage, I then continued my studies in a Master's Degree program at the Tri-State College of Acupuncture (NYC), where I graduated with honors. Then, still hungry for more, I moved across the country to work towards receiving my Doctorate at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona. It is at this medical school that I now have the opportunity to build on my previous training and experience of the body by furthering my studies to incorporate Homeopathy, western Herbal medicine, and other natural modalities while also integrating western medical training.

A highly sought after technique I perform in some acupuncture treatments is trigger point dry needling. Trigger points are hypercontracted nodules located in muscle bands that often cause local or referred pain (pain that manifests in an area other than the source trigger point). The existence of and the benefits of releasing such myofascial trigger points were founded on Janet Travell's research and later incorporated into a style of acupuncture that I practice called Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM), developed by Dr. Mark Seem. This style is based on theories from Chinese, Japanese, and French acupuncture and emphasizes the releasing of trigger points for optimal pain reduction through acupuncture. In addition to APM, my training is also in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Kiiko Matsumoto (Japanese) acupuncture, which allows for effectively tailored treatment protocols specific to each patient's needs and preferences. Additional techniques I use include electroacupuncture, gua sha, cupping, and moxabustion.
